The wonderful team at Sipsmith have made a Raffles Gin to celebrate 100 years of the Singapore Sling. A Gin based cocktail created by Ngiam Tong Boon in 1915 in the Long Bar within the famous hotel. My Brother left Blighty many moons ago to live in Singapore, so I have the perfect opportunity to post my little man, for a trip to Raffles for a photo-shoot. I know that you can make a purchase of the gin in Selfridges…. And I did take a little snap of my little feller in Selfridges….. however wouldn’t it be good to see the Gin in the place that it was designed for? And in the drink that is famous around the world! I would go myself but I don’t fly…. And it’s a very long way by boat for a photo! If you want to give cocktail making a go you will need the following for Singapore Sling. I however take no responsibility for what happen after you have consumed!
1 1⁄2 ounces gin
1⁄2 ounce cherry heering
1⁄4 ounce Cointreau liqueur
1⁄4 ounce Benedictine
4 ounces pineapple juice
1⁄2 ounce lime juice
1⁄3 ounce grenadine
1 dash bitters
